Middle School

Dynamic Academics

At the middle school level, students are more capable of making their own academic decisions by choosing specific curriculum pathways that will guide their high school experiences. However, parent involvement is also a critical element, which is why parents are encouraged to take part in planning their students’ schedules as part of a cooperative effort with students and faculty members. Below, you’ll get a closer look at the fundamental aspects of our middle school academics set in small classes equipped with the most sophisticated educational technologies and resources.

  • Core curriculum – Mathematics, language arts, social studies, science, and physical education are at the heart of our middle school curriculum. In each of these subjects students are challenged to create strong study habits and think critically to achieve a more complex and abstract understanding of every lesson.
  • Extracurricular coursework – In addition to core subjects, students may take special courses such as Spanish, visual arts, computer science, dance, and theatre. These supplemental subjects help to foster a creative learning environment where students can feel confident in their exploration of new subject areas. Along with extracurricular classes on campus, students also have opportunities to learn with local field trips in the Bay Area as well as more extended trips around the nation.
  • Independent growth and team activities – Our middle school instructors balance independent learning with group activities so that students are able to hone their own problem solving skills while learning to work cooperatively.

Summer Enrichment

Learning does not stop during summer vacation. Even students who do not participate in our formal summer program will have reading and math assignments for the break to reduce summer learning loss.
