A Look at Our Vibrant Arts Programs

Private School Dublin

To create a well-rounded education for students, Quarry Lane School offers an extensive and vibrant arts program for its students. Not only will students participate in college prep school education, but they will have the opportunity to learn about visual art, music, and performing arts. Here is a brief look at Quarry Lane School’s arts program:

From an early age, children often express a desire in art and music. From private preschools to college preparatory schools, students can mold, nurture and master their love of art or music at Quarry Lane School. There are several courses, in many levels, to introduce students to all types of artistic expression. Whether students are learning about fashion design, singing, dancing, theater, painting, or sculpting, they can learn and showcase their talent for everyone to see.

Building Community Ties at Quarry Lane Preschool

Preschool Pleasanton

The Quarry Lane Preschool takes seriously the responsibilities of preparing our students to progress in their educations and helping them find their places in the community. We nurture our ties with the local community with a number of activities throughout the year that are run through our private preschool.

During the fall, Quarry Lane Preschool hosts a food drive in conjunction with the Alameda County Food Bank. In winter, we sponsor local families through the Head Start program and One Warm Coat Drive. Through programs such as Valentines for Veterans and the Blue Star Moms for the Troops drive, we support veteran and troop services. In addition, our students raise money for causes such as muscular dystrophy and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through national programs including an annual Trike-a-Thon. All of our charitable and community programs are designed to help our private preschool students learn the values of compassion and giving.

From our private preschool in Pleasanton, CA and Dublin, CA to our STEM education and IB curriculum, The Quarry Lane School creates a roadmap for your child’s success. Learn more about enrollment or arrange a school tour by calling (925) 829-8000.

Adjusting to a New School

Returning to the classroom after a break or entering the classroom in a new school for the first time can always be tricky for kids. If you’re concerned about helping your child make the transition to their private high school, middle school, or elementary school, this video will help.

At the start of the school year, recognize that change naturally brings some stress, and let your child try to navigate his or her new environment independently, acting only as a sounding board. As the year progresses, if you see signs of anxiety, bullying, or other worrying behaviors, consider talking to your child’s teacher or his or her doctor.

At The Quarry Lane School, our private school in Dublin, CA or Pleasanton, CA, offers a college prep school curriculum and small classes for maximum student support. Find out what we can offer your child by calling (925) 829-8000.

Helping Students Avoid the Summer Slide

As you watch the short video, you will find that avoiding the summer slide—when students forget much of their private high school education due to mental inactivity—can be a simple task. Using three tactics, your child will stay engaged and ready for college preparatory school when it begins in the fall.

  1. Encourage your children to read anything engaging.
  2. Document their summer using technology available to them.
  3. Use various computer programs, free online courses, and smartphone apps to keep their minds engaged and learning.

Avoid the summer slide with the Quarry Lane School, a college prep school devoted to helping students become better learners and globally-minded citizens. We have preschools in Dublin and Pleasanton, CA, all the way to a private high school. Call us at (925) 829-8000 to see our enrollment requirements.

Helping Your High School Student Manage a Busy Schedule

There are many ways high schoolers can succeed, in school and in life, and there are many ways that parents can help them focus on their education and health. When attending a private high school, your student may feel overwhelmed at times, but there are some simple steps you can take to help them manage their busy schedule.

Help Plan

One of the best habits your high school student can learn, for school and adult life, is how to plan. Using a date book or the calendar app on her smartphone will go a long way toward getting her busy schedule in line. As sporting events, extracurricular activities, and social events pop up, she will be able to plan ahead by using her calendar app. Also, planning ahead means beginning projects, homework, and regular studying as it occurs. This essential habit is important for any type of education, but especially when attending a preparatory school. Your student’s schedule and tasks may fill up quickly at a college preparatory school, and learning how to plan ahead will be a future asset.

Encourage Goals

Another aspect of planning ahead is learning how to set goals for the future. Your child can manage her busy schedule by setting realistic goals for herself. These goals might include finishing a big project early so she can attend a social event; or taking advanced placement (AP) classes and SAT prep classes so she can attend her dream college. There are a variety of goals to help your high schooler manage her schedule, as well as prepare for her future.

Strengthen Healthy Habits

Don’t forget to encourage your child to eat a healthy diet and maintain healthy habits. Achieving a sufficient amount of sleep among a busy schedule is crucial to her physical and mental wellbeing. Encourage your high schooler to talk about her life in and out of school so she feels comfortable approaching you about any future concerns.

The Quarry Lane School believes in helping children be the best versions of themselves.
